NALA is recruiting Distance Learning Tutors

The National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) runs an adult literacy Distance Learning Service. The Service includes a Freephone tutor support line, the website and supports around 300 distance learners per year.

NALA is currently expanding its panel by recruiting part-time Distance Learning Tutors to support adult learners over the telephone and online.

All successful candidates will work from home over the phone and online, starting in January 2019.

You will need:
• at least 5 years' experience as an adult literacy tutor
• to have completed adult literacy tutor training
• to be able to support adult learners over the telephone and/or online
• excellent ICT skills
• excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
• excellent administration skills
• a personal computer and broadband connection.

NALA will provide:
• Distance Learning Training;
• support from the Distance Learning Service Tutor Co-ordinator; and
• a NALA work mobile phone.

As part of the recruitment process there will be a timed ICT competency test. This test will be sent to you on Friday 23 November 2018 and must be completed by Saturday 24 November 2018. You will need a mobile phone or digital camera with video capability, a computer and internet access. Successful candidates will then be called for interviews which will take place in the week beginning 3 December 2018 in Dublin.
