What is this webinar about?

This webinar will explore:

  • The potential of digital media to empower students and enhance learning
  • How to plan and structure the use of digital media in the classroom
  • How to evaluate apps for classroom use

There will be a 20 minute presentation on this subject, followed by 10 minutes of questions and answers.

Who is the facilitator?

Aoife Fitzsimons has been part of many innovative projects which have introduced digital media and social media into the literacy classroom. She currently lectures in National University of Ireland Galway’s Centre for Adult Education in the following modules: Online course design, teaching and learning online and virtual learning environments. Aoife also works with Galway Roscommon ETB where she uses digital media to enhance the traditional literacy skills and digital literacy skills of adult learners.

How do I take part?

To register for this webinar, please email Fergus Dolan fdolan@nala.ie by 5pm on Monday 30 April. In your email please tell Fergus which adult education centre you work with. Fergus will send you a link for the webinar a couple of days before the event. You’ll need a computer or laptop, plus speakers (or head-phones if you are in a shared office) and an internet connection. And if you’d like to join in the question and answer session, you’ll need headphones with a microphone.

If you can’t join us live on May 2, the webinar will be also be available on NALA’s YouTube channel.
