1. Decisions taken at the EGM
NALA held a very successful Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on 22 March 2024 in the Ashling Hotel in Dublin. in. At that meeting, our Members agreed to update NALA’s Constitution and Procedural Rules. These updated documents will be available on our website in the coming weeks.
2. Impact of those decisions
As a result of the members’ decisions, I would like to let you know the following:
- Membership of NALA now runs from 1 February each year. Therefore, the expiration date of your membership will be extended until 31 January 2025. We will be making changes to the Membership area of our website over the coming months. You do not need to do anything and we will keep you informed.
- NALA changed the amount of time someone can serve as a Member of the Board. This is known as a term. A member of NALA’s Board can now serve for 3 years. It used to be 2 years.
- NALA is now looking for nominations to the Board from our Members. There is more information on this below.
3. Steps for nominating Directors and Officers to be elected to NALA’s Board
The Board provides essential leadership to NALA. It makes sure that our vision, mission and values are promoted, advanced and achieved.
This year we have the following vacancies:
- 9 Directors
- The Chairperson
