10.00 Welcome and opening remarks.

10.10 Using Virtual Reality (VR) technology to help job seekers

10.40  Learner stories supporting digital skills using a UDL (universal design for learning) approach: Support learners to feel more confident in using everyday technology and understand that not all sources of information online are accurate

11.10 Beyond the buzzwords: A deep dive into Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for real-world communication challenges in the learning environment

Ana Marques, FET Educator, Workshop facilitator and External Authenticator, Certified Digital Learning Associate (CDLA), RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning), Limerick and Clare ETB.

This session will look at AI through the learner’s lens, moving beyond the buzzwords to explore how these tools actually support real communication challenges.
It will reflect on where AI helps learners develop clarity and confidence, and where it risks taking over their voice.
Tutors will leave with practical insights and a more human-centred approach to using AI in the learning environment.

12.00 Digital confidence first: Supporting adults who feel left behind by technology

Matthew Hutnik, Adult and Community Education Practitioner & Researcher, Atlas Education, Sligo.

Tutors will hear about practical strategies to support learners who feel anxious or left behind by technology, with a focus on building confidence before skills. The session will explore how relational, non-judgemental learning environments can support learners to move from fear to confidence, and from there to meaningful participation in digital life. Examples from practice will highlight simple approaches that can be applied within existing classes.

12.30 Panel discussion.
