Professional development
We have two free online Professional development courses on our eLearning website Learn with NALA.
‘Understanding adult literacy, numeracy and digital literacy’ will help you understand the experience and impact of unmet literacy needs on adults in Irish society.
‘Becoming literacy friendly’ will help you to make changes to your workplace to make it more accessible to people who might struggle with reading, writing, maths and digital skills.
You can do them anytime and they take about 1 hour to complete.

Free webinars
Throughout the year NALA organises free one-hour webinars on literacy awareness and using literacy friendly approaches. In these sessions you will hear about the impact of unmet literacy needs and practical tips to becoming more literacy friendly.
You will also here from an adult literacy student about their experience. These will be advertised in the ‘Upcoming events’ section of the NALA website.
