The National Adult Literacy Agency is an independent charity committed to making sure people with literacy and numeracy difficulties can fully take part in society and have access to learning opportunities that meet their needs. Since we were set up by volunteers in 1980, we have been a leading campaigning and lobbying force on adult literacy issues.
We are seeking a JobBridge intern for the position of Internal Support Assistant. This role will be of interest to someone looking for a career in HR, governance or administration in the community, voluntary and charitable sector. The role will be to support the Internal Support Co-ordinator to develop systems and co-ordinate procedures aimed at increasing NALA’s effectiveness and efficiency.
The role will involve:
• Reviewing and updating HR and governance policies and procedures
• Assisting in implementing the records management policy
• Organising staff development activities
The person appointed will have the following skills:
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational and teamwork skills
• Good writing, editing and ICT skills
• Attention to detail and problem solving skills
The person appointed will be given an opportunity to work with a national charity in the area of adult literacy which is in the forefront of good corporate governance. Training will be provided by the Internal Support Co-ordinator and there will be an opportunity to interface with all other areas of the agency.
