The National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) pre-budget submission for 2027 sets out how this budget can support adults with literacy, numeracy and digital literacy needs.

Our asks for Budget 2027

1. Provide NALA with additional funding of €650,000 to maintain and expand our:

• award-winning Learn with NALA distance and eLearning service
• literacy ambassador programmes in Irish prisons
• teaching and learning materials

2. Fast-track and fund Government-commissioned reports including the:

• report of the Expert Group on Literacy Provision
• mid-term review of the Adult Literacy for Life (ALL) strategy
• strategic advice notes from the National Skills Council (NSC)
