Corporate sponsorships
Many Irish companies and organisations have provided much need funding to pay for projects and campaigns that support adult literacy development in Ireland. Their support has been invaluable.
RTÉ
A media partnership between NALA and RTÉ saw our ‘Take the first step’ campaign promoted across RTÉ TV, radio, online and social media. The campaign used real-life stories of students to encourage people who have difficulty with reading, writing, maths or technology to get the help they need.
An Post advertising campaign
For over 10 years, An Post produced and funded a national TV advertising campaign to encourage those with literacy difficulties to take those difficult first steps back to education. The result – over 10,000 calls.
MSD Health literacy campaign
Our partnership with MSD aims to increase awareness about the issue of health literacy in Ireland. The Crystal Clear Awards were developed to reward and promote clear communications in the health sector.
Mason Hayes & Curran plain English awards
The Mason Hayes & Curran Plain English help us to promote the benefits of using plain English while also shining a light on organisations that are making efforts to communicate clearly. Equally, our joint publication ‘Plain English and the law’ has been very useful in our advocacy work to promote the use of plain English.
Better World Books
In 2011 NALA became Better World Books chosen charity partner in Ireland and so far, they have raised over €10,000 which we have given to local literacy projects. And this is only the beginning – the more books people buy from Better World Books, the more funding that will become available to support local projects, so start spreading the word!
If you would like to learn more about how your organisation could get involved please send us an email at communications@nala.ie. We’d be delighted to hear from you.
