National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) Annual General Meeting 2026

We are delighted to invite our members to NALA’s 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM):

Date: Tuesday 26 May 2026

Location: An Post, The Exo Building, Point Square, North Wall Quay, Dublin 1, D01 W5Y2

The proposed plan for the day is:

10:30 am      Registration and refreshments

11:00 am      Workshop to discuss literacy in Ireland

1:00 pm        Lunch

2:00 pm        Annual General Meeting (AGM)

4:00 pm        Finish

On the day we will also be serving a light lunch at 1pm in the same location.

Nominations to the Board

NALA has received eligible nomination forms from the following 7 individuals to be elected to the following vacant positions on the Board:

1. Chairperson – Dr Eleanor Neff
2. Vice Chairperson – Patricia (Trish) Nolan
3. Honorary Treasurer – Linda Ayres
4. Director – Ciaran Casey
5. Director – Mike Gogan
6. Director – Tadgh Quill-Manley
7. Director – Paula Tiller

You will be asked to approve these appointments at our AGM but there will be no election. This is because there is only 1 valid nomination to fill the available positions.

Each candidate will be asked to introduce themselves at our AGM and to say why they want to be elected. In the meantime, you can find out further information about our candidates here.

Cannot attend?

If you cannot attend our AGM either in person or online, Individual Members can do one of the following by completing and returning a Proxy form to us by 2pm on Sunday 24 May 2026:

1. Nominate someone, known as a Proxy, to vote on your behalf at the AGM or
2. Send us your votes on the Proxy form

Forms can be returned by:

• Email to: fmcgowan@nala.ie or
• Post to: The Company Secretary, FREEPOST, NALA, Sandford Lodge, Sandford Close, Ranelagh, Dublin 6, Ireland, D06 YF65.

Any forms received after this time cannot be accepted.

Organisational Members cannot vote by Proxy. However, they can send up to three delegates to attend and vote for the organisation by including the necessary details on the registration form. Changes can be made to the registered delegates up to 2pm on Sunday 24 May 2026.
