The National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) is hosting a webinar series for adult literacy and numeracy tutors to mark Maths Week 2022.

We will cover interesting topics and advice that will be useful in maths teaching including strategic approaches to teaching algebra and how we use numeracy in our everyday lives.

17 October 2022, 11am – 12pm:

Fractions, percentages, area, volume and solving brainteasers using visuals and animation.

18 October 2022, 11am – 12pm:

Using numeracy in everyday life: Exploring mathematics through shape and pattern (level 1-3)

19 October 2022, 11am – 12pm:

Algebra, a balancing act: Strategies to help students to approach algebra effectively

20 October 2022, 2pm – 3pm:

Launch of NALA Numeracy research report: Adult Learner’s understanding and conceptualisation of numeracy in Ireland.

21 October 2022, 11am – 12pm:

Numeracy as part of our everyday lives: A gardening project and a Maths Trail.
